Il celebre musical The Book of Mormon, vincitore di numerosi premi internazionali tra cui Tony®, Olivier® e Grammy®, arriva finalmente in Italia. La prima assoluta dello spettacolo nel nostro Paese si terrà proprio al TAM Teatro Arcimboldi Milano dal 10 al 21 dicembre 2025, segnando una nuova pagine nel mondo dell’entertainment.
The Book of Mormon nasce dall’incontro del genio creativo di Trey Parker e Matt Stone, geniali autori della serie televisiva South Park (premiata con Emmy e Peabody), oltre che dei film South Park (Bigger, Longer & Uncut) e Team America (World Police) con Robert Lopez, co-creatore del musical di Broadway Avenue Q e autore dei brani dei film Disney Frozen e Coco. Lopez è il primo e unico vincitore di un doppio "EGOT," per aver ottenuto almeno due volte tutti e quattro i principali premi d'intrattenimento: Emmy®, Grammy®, Oscar® e Tony®.
Una collaborazione esplosiva che ha dato vita a un'opera capace di divertire, sorprendere e far riflettere.
Dopo aver fatto il suo debutto nel 2011 all’Eugene O'Neill Theatre di New York, dove ha vinto nove Tony® Awards, incluso Miglior Musical, The Book of Mormon è stato rappresentato in tre continenti e ha vinto oltre trenta premi internazionali.
Il musical ha sbancato i botteghini dei teatri, raggiungendo il record storico di incassi a New York, Londra, Melbourne, Sydney e in molte città degli Stati Uniti.
La produzione londinese, che ha debuttato nel febbraio 2013 al Prince of Wales Theatre, dove ha stabilito il record per il maggior numero di biglietti venduti in un singolo giorno nella storia del West End, per poi vincere quattro Olivier Awards®, incluso Miglior Nuovo Musical.
Lo spettacolo in arrivo a Milano al TAM Teatro Arcimboldi, con libretto, musica e testi di Trey Parker, Robert Lopez e Matt Stone, è diretto da Casey Nicholaw e Trey Parker, con coreografie di Casey Nicholaw e scenografie firmata da Scott Pask.
Completano il team creativo il premio Oscar® Ann Roth per i costumi, Brian MacDevitt per il disegno luci, Brian Ronan per il suono, Larry Hochman e Stephen Oremus per le orchestrazioni, con supervisione musicale e arrangiamenti vocali di Stephen Oremus.
Il musical racconta, attraverso una comicità esplosiva, la storia di due giovani missionari mormoni, Elder Price ed Elder Cunningham, inviati in Uganda per convertire gli abitanti del villaggio al mormonismo. Tuttavia, la realtà che incontrano — segnata da povertà, guerra, malattie e disperazione — mette alla prova le loro convinzioni religiose e li costringe a confrontarsi con la distanza tra la dottrina idealizzata e la vita reale.
Considerata una delle opere più irriverenti, intelligenti e provocatorie del teatro contemporaneo, capace di unire umorismo dissacrante e riflessione umana profonda, The Book of Mormon esplora la differenza tra fede autentica e dogma istituzionalizzato. Pur deridendo certi aspetti del mormonismo e della religione organizzata, l’opera non è un attacco alla spiritualità. Al contrario, celebra la capacità dell’essere umano di credere in qualcosa e di trovare speranza attraverso il racconto. La risata diventa così un atto di liberazione, e la satira si trasforma in uno specchio in cui riconoscere la nostra vulnerabilità e il nostro bisogno di credere in qualcosa. Con il suo linguaggio diretto e senza filtri, invita a guardare oltre le apparenze per scoprire una riflessione profonda sul valore della fede, della speranza e della solidarietà.
Il TAM Teatro Arcimboldi Milano ha l’onore di ospitare The Book of Mormon in versione originale e lingua inglese, come avviene nelle sue celebri produzioni in scena nel West End e a Broadway, offrendo al pubblico italiano l’autentica esperienza del musical che ha conquistato il mondo.

Parker ha scritto e diretto il suo primo lungometraggio, Cannibal! The Musical, mentre frequentava l’Università del Colorado a Boulder. Qualche anno dopo, Trey ha co-creato insieme a Matt Stone (compagno di college e produttore di Cannibal!) la serie animata di successo South Park. Debuttata su Comedy Central nel 1997 e attualmente alla sua ventiduesima stagione, South Park ha vinto cinque Emmy® Awards e il prestigioso Peabody Award.
Nello stesso anno del debutto di South Park, Parker ha scritto, diretto e interpretato il film Orgazmo. Due anni dopo, Parker e Stone hanno realizzato il film South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.

MATT STONE (BOOK, MUSIC AND LYRICS)
Stone ha conosciuto Trey Parker all’Università del Colorado e insieme hanno realizzato un cortometraggio animato intitolato The Spirit of Christmas. Questo progetto ha dato il via alla loro opera più conosciuta: la serie televisiva South Park, acclamata dalla critica e vincitrice di numerosi premi. La serie animata, trasmessa su Comedy Central, è giunta alla sua ventiduesima stagione e ha fatto guadagnare a Stone cinque Emmy® Awards e il prestigioso Peabody Award.
Il film South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, prodotto e co-sceneggiato da Stone, ha ricevuto una nomination all’Oscar® e ha vinto il New York Film Critics Circle Award come Miglior Film d’Animazione. Oltre a South Park, Stone ha collaborato con Parker anche per il film a basso budget Cannibal! The Musical, la commedia di supereroi Orgazmo e il thriller d’azione con marionette Team America: World Police.
Matt Stone ha vinto tre Tony® Awards per il musical The Book of Mormon, incluso quello per il Miglior Musical, oltre a un Grammy® per il Miglior Album di Teatro Musicale. Matt Stone è originario di Littleton, Colorado.
ROBERT LOPEZ (BOOK, MUSIC, LYRICS)
Lopez è il co-creatore dei musical di Broadway di enorme successo Avenue Q e The Book of Mormon, vincitori del Tony® Award. Insieme alla moglie e collaboratrice Kristen Anderson-Lopez, ha scritto le canzoni per il film Disney Frozen, vincendo un Oscar® e un Grammy® per la celebre brano “Let It Go”, oltre a un Grammy® per la colonna sonora di Frozen. La coppia ha anche adattato Frozen per Broadway, con debutto nella primavera del 2018.
Lopez e Anderson-Lopez hanno inoltre co-scritto la canzone vincitrice dell’Oscar® “Remember Me” per il film Coco della Pixar, il musical originale Up Here, le musiche per Winnie the Pooh della Disney e Finding Nemo: The Musical, in scena al Walt Disney World dal 2006.
Lopez ha vinto due Emmy® Awards per le musiche della serie The Wonder Pets di Nickelodeon e ha ricevuto una nomination agli Emmy® per l’episodio musicale di Scrubs e per la canzone “Moving Pictures”, che ha aperto l’87ª edizione degli Academy Awards.
Il suo lavoro è stato presentato anche in programmi televisivi come South Park, I Simpson e Phineas e Ferb.
Lopez è uno dei soli quindici artisti ad aver vinto i quattro principali premi dell’industria dell’intrattenimento: Emmy®, Grammy®, Oscar® e Tony® Awards (EGOT). Ha inoltre ricevuto riconoscimenti come il Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, Lucille Lortel, Frederick Loewe e Edward Kleban Awards.
Laureato a Yale, Lopez vive attualmente a Brooklyn con sua moglie e le loro due figlie.
CASEY NICHOLAW (CO-DIRECTOR, CHOREOGRAPHER)
Casey è presente a Broadway come regista e coreografo di Mean Girls (nomination ai Tony® Awards 2018 per Miglior Regia e Miglior Coreografia), Aladdin della Disney (nomination ai Tony®, Drama Desk e Outer Critics Circle Awards 2014per la Miglior Coreografia), e come co-regista e coreografo di The Book of Mormon (vincitore dei Tony®, Drama Deske Outer Critics Circle Awards 2011 come co-regista e nomination negli stessi premi per la Coreografia).
Nel West End è stato regista e coreografo di The Book of Mormon (vincitore dell’Olivier® Award per la Miglior Coreografia), Dreamgirls e Aladdin della Disney.
